New CEO has been appointed by Iraq’s Asiacell

Iraqi operator Asiacell, a subsidiary of Qatari operator group Ooredoo, has appointed Amer Al Sunna as its CEO.
Having more than 10.5 million subscribers in Iraq, Asiacell has recently completed its IPO on the Iraq Stock Exchange. According to Asiacell chairman and founder Faruk Mustafa Rasool, Al Sunna will be tasked with helping “continue the success of our operation and ensure our success well into the future”.
Amer Sunna joined the Ooredoo group as CEO of wi-tribe Jordan in August of 2010 and has been managing director of Asiacell Iraq since February 2013.
Dr. Diar Ahmed, the outgoing CEO, will now play the role of chief advisor to the chairman. It has to be noted that Dr. Diar Ahmed has served his position for almost 6 long years and during his tenure, he experienced a lot of successes.
