Spokesperson of the Iraqi Planning Ministry Abdul-Zahra al-Hindaw attributed the increase in a rise in food and non-alcoholic beverages prices by 2.2%, besides 0.4% and 0.1% in housing and tobacco prices respectively. The report was based on a survey that, for the first time since June 2014, covered Salahuddin province, but excluded Nineveh and Anbar due to the security situation there. The consumer prices index rose by 105.1% during April compared to 2012, according to the spokesperson. The planning ministry stated that poverty rates at the whole of Iraq stood at 30%, making more than 41% at terrorism-hit areas. | ||
