Iraq is planning to build seven new universities across the country as part of a Ministry of Higher Education plan to develop its scientific and research sector, the Iraqi government said Wednesday (May 14th).
"An approval was given for creating seven new universities, including four polytechnic universities and three other universities: al-Karkh Science University, Baghdad Girls University and the Baghdad Information and Communications Technology University," an Iraqi cabinet statement said.
The cabinet instructed the ministry to start building the universities in accordance with the relevant laws currently in effect.
