The central Karbala governorate of Iraq is planning for building an industrial city, which will magnetize foreign as well as local capital into the manufacturing sector of the province.
An agreement has been signed already in this regard, with the Arab country’s industry ministry for the construction of the zone’s infrastructure.
Jassim Al-Fatlawi, deputy governor of Karbala, stated that the agreement includes that Karbala’s government would allocate the land for the project while the industry ministry undertakes to execute its infrastructure, including roads, sewage, water and electricity.
However, he did not specify the total cost of the project and launching date. He hopes that the project will lure capitals towards the regions and huge job openings can be created to benefit the local people.
