Industrial zones in Iraq – prospects are discussed by free zone dept and UN delegation

The Secretary General of the Free Zones Authority associated to the Ministry of Finance was into a discussion with the delegation of the UN Industrial Development Organization the establishment of industrial zones in Iraq on the context of promoting investment opportunities in the country.
A delegation from UNIDO visited the Free Zone Department and discussed with the Iraqi officials about the privileges and incentives that will be offered by the Free Zone Dept to the industrial projects and the laws adopted by the Authority. Also the future plans of the committee have also been discussed in the meeting.
On the other hand, the authority has expressed its interest too in order to cooperate with the UNIDO. The authority is hopeful that this mutual cooperation will open so many future prospects in Iraq and definitely will provide a thrust in Iraqi economy.
