The Japanese giant with interests in power plants, air-conditioning systems, construction machinery and transport systems, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is opening a new office in Iraq within next week.
The company said that the office in Basra will allow it to "respond swiftly to emerging large-scale social infrastructure improvement projects" as Iraq continues a rebuilding of its infrastructure.
It has been also revealed that it will serve as a base for sales support for its product range, as well as for information gathering and establishing links with firms involved in Iraq's rebuilding.
In its statement, the company proclaimed, "Through the new office, MHI aims to work closely with Iraqi customers and become fully familiar with the local market as it seeks to contribute aggressively to Iraq's early recovery and development."
